Harley Motorcycle Makeover - Written by Keith Fudge

Everyone knows that J & P Cycles throws the best customer appreciation celebration anywhere, but recently John Parham and his staff took customer appreciation to a new level by sponsoring a complete motorcycle makeover for one lucky rider. The winner was announced recently as Dennis Scheper! Dennis owns a 2001 Harley-Davidson FXST, and his Grand Prize was the opportunity to go through the enormous J & P catalog to pick out just what parts and accessories he wanted for his bike. Today, we'll look at the first day of transformation for this stock Harley-Davidson as it begins to look totally awesome the J & P way.

The first step in the process was to remove the stock headlight, turn signals, mirrors, and hand controls. Assisted by J & P Cycles master mechanic, Jeff Wiley, this Softail standard was about to become anything but ordinary! First, Kuryakyn's Iso-Grips with color trim rings and the Iso-Throttle Boss were added to the bars. Next, Kuryakyn's beefy Brake and Clutch Control Dress-Up Kit added the chrome that this Harley really needed. After that was installed, Jeff attached Kuryakyn's ergonomic Chrome Trigger Brake and Clutch Levers to complete the chrome makeover on the handlebars.

The next part of the makeover had to do with the lights. Still using the stock H-D bucket, Jeff installed a Classic Chrome Tri-Bar Halogen Headlight and an extended chrome trim ring. Next, Kuryakyn's stylish Silver Bullet Turn Signals with handlebar swivel mounts were added. Last but not least, Magnum's Ellipse chrome custom mirrors were added to complete the front makeover on Dennis' bike.

That takes care of the front end of the project. If you want to see what happens the rest of the way, you'll have to come back later. Join us again soon to see just how the parts and accessories from J & P Cycles will change Dennis' bike. Just imagine what they can do for your bike.
