Kirk Taylor’s first love was art, & he got his start as a custom motorcycle painter. But having grown up with a gear-head dad, it was a natural evolution for Kirk to wrench on the bikes he painted. Soon, he was building bikes from scratch, & these days Kirk & his crew are turning out some of the baddest custom motocycles on the West Coast from their Novato, CA shop. Kirk’s clientele includes Metalica’s James Hetfield & anti-terrorist trainer Jane Parkhurst, who’s life inspired the movie “GI Jane”. Check out his creations, his bike-building philosophy & more in this up-close interview.

The guys at J&P are at it again! In this Makeover they’ve started with a kit bike from the J&P catalog, & are customizing it into a vintage-styled bobber to be donated to the National Motorcycle Museum. Plans are for the Museum to raffle off the bobber as a fundraiser. Check out this Makeover & all the parts & pieces plus thousands more at jpcycles.com.
