EPISODE CRO 11022

In this episode of Corbin’s Ride On, it’s the annual Anamosa get-together that’s become one of motorcycling’s big events – The J&P Open House!  Plus we’ll check behind the scenes at Cobra USA – definitely a pioneer in the metric aftermarket – & in Shop Talk, we’re all about suspension sag – how to measure it & how to adjust it.

J&P Open House
Froma dirt-floored garage to a 60,000 square foot facility with 300 employees…that’s the story of J&P Cycles, one of the world’s largest motorcycle parts retailers.  & how do owners John & Jill Parham celebrate their success?  By throwing a party, that’s how!  We visit the annual Open House, talk to vendors & visitors, & get the feel of the event.  Free food & drink, all the major bike accessory companies with their big rigs (just like Sturgia & Daytona!) along with Easyrider’s Dyno-drags, Sammy Morgan riding the Wall of Death, customs, lots more – that’s what makes J&P’s Open House a blast!

Cutting Edge Custom Parts
By the early 90’s Tim McCool’s Cobra USA (named on the spur of the moment after a cordless phone Tim happened to be carrying) was a major supplier of exhaust systems for ATVs & dirt bikes.  But the future was calling from the new metric cruisers!  These days, Cobra USA is still pioneering pipes, parts & accessories for the custom metric aftermarket.   You’ll meet Tim & his talented crew & check out stuff like Cobra’s new FI2000 – a plug-&-play  upgrade for fuel-injected bikes.  Watch – then check out more at cobrausa.com!

Shop Talk: Measuring SAG
If you ride a bike with a rear suspension, you need to be aware of “suspension sag” & how to measure & adjust it.  We got together with MMI Chief Instructor Chris Reo to see how the experts measure sag in each of three different modes, then adjust the rear shocks to get a factory-perfect ride that’s custom-tailored to you & the way you ride.  No two riders ar exactly alike, so we hate to nag – but check your sag!
